The Power of Deep Dives: My Journey with Premchand's "Kafan" and Cloud Computing

The name Munshi Premchand evokes a sense of wonder in me. As a Hindi tutor in Tamil Nadu, I used to teach his impactful short story, "Kafan," to undergraduate students. While the story itself was a captivating exploration of human behavior shaped by society (around 7-10 pages), my true revelation came later.

During my M.A. in Hindi (distance education) at Pondicherry University, "Kafan" reappeared in the syllabus, but this time, it was analyzed in depth – over 80 pages! We delved into Premchand's motivations for writing the story in its historical context. This experience sparked a question: why pursue higher education?

The Journey from Basics to Mastery

At the undergraduate level, we often receive a foundational understanding of a subject. However, higher studies unlock its true potential. You gain a nuanced understanding, explore different perspectives, and delve into the intricacies of the field. This is precisely what I experienced with Cloud Computing.

After earning my Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) certification, I felt competent, but my knowledge had limitations. Then, I achieved Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect status. It was like finally completing a master's degree in the subject – a comprehensive understanding that empowered me to excel.

The Takeaway: Embrace Lifelong Learning

The message is clear: continuous learning is essential. An undergraduate degree provides a solid foundation, but a postgraduate qualification deepens your expertise. This applies not just to literature, but to any field. Don't stop exploring, keep expanding your knowledge, and strive for mastery.
